Our new 2010 Jayco 1206 has a high pitched whine.  At first we thought it was noise from our home's mercury vapor nightguard light.  We camper the last few nights and now know it is in the camper.  We haven't been able to pinpoint exactly where the high pitched whine is coming from.  If I put my ear next to the converter, it seems to be coming from the ceiling.  If I put my head near the ceiling, it seems to be coming from somewhere else.

It is electrical, but not tied to AC power.  It is there on battery power too.

Anyone have any insight so I can let the dealer know what it is?

Since it's a 2010 and still under warranty, why not take it back to the dealer?

I'm stumped on this.
I could definitely understand a 'whine' on AC as the converter fan is quite high-pitched, but on DC, no way.

Do I assume that you hear the noise with all appliances turned off on DC --- lights, heater, water pump?

There is nothing left except your 9-volt smoke detector in the ceiling (I have one in mine --- assuming yours has one too). I assume you're also aware that if you are powered up (DC or AC), and cut the power, the propane detector alarm will go off for about 10 seconds.

Otherwise, you have a hornets nest in there someplace... Shocked I did have bees move into my fridge vent area and they buzzed all day. That was a fun time, until I evicted them.  Disapprove

I pulled fuses today.  It seems to be on the Patio Light/Radio/Furnace fuse.  The propane detector and radio are right next to each other.  I will try disconnecting the radio to see if the whine goes away.

I ran the furnace for the first time.  It set off the smoke detector.  Go figure.

The dealer is an hour drive away.  The Jayco factory is actually closer than the dealer.
